Ted Lee
Dr. Ted Lee is the Director of Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery of University of Pittsburgh Medical Center at Magee Womens Hospital. He earned his medical degree from Tufts University School of Medicine in 1992 and completed his residency in Ob/Gyn at Temple University Hospital in Philadelphia. He also matriculated to the Physician Leadership and Management Program at University of Pittsburgh, School of Business.
He strongly believes in the use of surgical videos as an educational tool for advancing the art and science of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. He was awarded multiple times for the best surgical video presentation by ACOG. He is the only four-time Golden Laparoscope Award winner for best surgical video at AAGL. Dr. Lee is a sought after lecturer and surgeon who has taught and performed live surgeries around the world. He was featured as one the three Master Surgeons in the Steel Surgeon Event at the 2014 AAGL World Congress. He is repeatedly nominated by his peers as the one of the “Best Doctors” in America since 2004.
His devotion as a clinician-educator is evidenced by his successful mentorship of minimally invasive surgical fellows since 2001. His fellowship has placed the highest number of fellows in major academic institutions among all of the AAGL MIGS fellowship since its inception. His fellows have obtained leadership positions in major academic institutions throughout the country and abroad, including University of Pittsburgh, Cedar Sinai, Harvard/ Beth Israel, University of Florida, University of Wisconsin, Loyola University Medical Center American University of Beirut, Stanford University and Duke Medical Center. They in turn are training the next generation of young gynecologic surgeons in the art and science of minimally invasive gynecologic surgery. Dr. Lee’s practice is entirely dedicated to minimally invasive surgical option for women. He is a firm believer that virtually all of benign gynecologic surgical conditions should be treated in a minimally invasive fashion. Dr Lee's clinical expertise includes minimally invasive surgery for the treatments of: 1. Endometriosis (including severe endometriosis involving bowel, bladder and ureter), 2. Fibroid, 3. abnormal uterine bleeding, 4.Urinary incontinence, 5.Pelvic organ prolapse.
