Rebecca Deans
Assoc. Prof. Rebecca Deans is an internationally recognised researcher and clinician in benign gynaecology, infertility. She works at the Royal Hospital for Women, Sydney Children’s Hospital, UNSW and Life Fertility Sydney. Rebecca has produced over 60 peer reviewed publications in leading journals, 5 book chapters and over 20 research papers.
She is the lead researcher in a collaborative uterus transplant research project. In January 2023 Dr Deans’ team performed Australia’s first uterus transplant surgery at the Royal Hospital for Women, with a live birth on 15 December 2023. Two further transplants have been performed with a second live birth in March 2024. For her work in women’s health she was awarded NSW Woman of Excellence in 2023.
